The Concept

General mobilization notice

Since the beginning of humanity, we have known many wars.  We all learned this in school… How many ‘enlightened’ leaders have declared war to the world?… This idea is so pregnant that we harbor it daily unaware.  We often make war with others, ourselves, our life partner, our neighbours…

The love caravan is a declaration of love to the world…  It will leave for Romania in the spirit of a love offensive.  For one and a half month, it will carry people between 7 and 75 years of age.  Almost as good as Tintin!  We will travel through the South of France, Italy, Slovenia and Hungary.

It may be utopian…  But to believe that wars bring peace is, in my opinion, more than utopian it is stupid!  Wars only result in injuries, humiliations and resentments.  Between the utopia of war and the utopia of love, I choose the latter!

The people who are leaving?  Belated hippies, followers of a sect, life dropouts?  No!  They are simply people from various geographic and social horizons.  Grandfathers, grandmothers, families with children, young people, who dare to still believe in mankind and its beauty in spite of all that is said and conveyed…  Who dare to believe in the beauty of life and of the world…
Each is in charge of his/her trip and for many, to leave work and everyday life for a month and a half is no simple matter.

Our journey is based on the guerilla principle created by Lawrence of Arabia…  A handful of men with conviction, he would say, can defeat the most powerful armies.  Well, the love caravan with its practice of kissing guerilla intends to rekindle in the hearts of men the flame of joy and trust in humanity.  We stop at a village, get out with a hurdy-gurdy player or a piano, make people dance, give kisses to everyone, write words and tags of love with chalk on walls, roads and sidewalks, spread color and laughter, and hop! 20 minutes later, we disappear… strange, no? But… To be strange or not to be!
